College Recruiting Website FAQs

Q1) What is the difference between a profile page and a College Recruiting Website?

There are many differences between a profile page and a College Recruiting Website. A profile page gives you one page hosted on a website to display your sports and academic information. You do not own this page. In order for a college coach to find you the coach much either log in to the website that hosts your page along with 1,000’s of other athletes and search for you specifically or find you amongst all of the other players. Your profile page is not searchable in Google and you do not have an easy to remember personal URL (website name) that you can give to a college coach interested in viewing your profile page.

Having a College Recruiting Website gives you a YourName.com URL (website name) that college coaches can easily remember. You are not competing with other profiles hosted on a website; you are your own website. Your College Recruiting Website can be searched in Google, and you will have analytics in the background that will tell you when and where your College Recruiting Website was viewed.

Q2) Is a College Recruiting Website the same as a profile page?

No, a College Recruiting Website is your own website just like google.com is its own website. A profile page is similar to a platform like Facebook. You have 1,000’s of users who make up 1,000’s of pages of a larger website. With your College Recruiting Website you are your own website.

Q3) Is it safe to put my personal information on my College Recruiting Website?

We believe that the information we suggest you put on your College Recruiting Website is information we feel necessary for the college coach to have. Yes, anyone can view your College Recruiting Website because it is a public website but any information you don’t want to reveal about yourself you don’t have to place on your College Recruiting Website.

For example, instead of listing your mailing address on your College Recruiting Website the player can request the interested college coach email them for their mailing address.

If you do not want to list your cell phone or email that is okay but we highly recommend there is at least one email and phone number listed on your College Recruiting Website. Remember the object is to make it easy for a college coach to recruit you, not harder.

Q4) What if MyName.com is already taken?

If YourName.com is already taken we will use your name and jersey number dot com. For example: YourName10.com. Or if you don’t have a number in your sport we will secure YourName.com and include your sport or favorite number. Example: YourNameSwimming.com or YourName7.com.

Q5) What is hosting?

Hosting is the home for your College Recruiting Website on the Internet. Every website on the Internet needs to be hosted. It is like paying rent to the Internet to make sure your website is accessible to Internet users.

Q6) Why do I have to pay a yearly renewal for my College Recruiting Website?

You need to pay a yearly renewal because each year your College Recruiting Website’s domain name comes up for renewal. Think of it as rent for your website name. We have to pay a yearly fee for the website name CollegeRecruitingWebsite.com too.

Included in your yearly renewal is a hosting fee. This fee is to make sure your College Recruiting Website is up and running and Internet users are able to visit it.

Q7) How much does a College Recruiting Website Cost?

Q11) What if I don’t have a highlight video, can I still get a College Recruiting Website?

Yes. You do not need a highlight video in order to have a College Recruiting Website. You can display all of your important athletic and academic information along with pictures on your College Recruiting Website. Your College Recruiting Website comes with a “Highlight Video” page. If you don’t have a highlight video yet or do not want one we will hide the “Highlight Video” page of your College Recruiting Website so a college coach does not click on that page and then feel disappointed when there is not a video.

If you decide to make a highlight video, we will unhide the page and place your video on your College Recruiting Website.

Q12) How long does this process take?

It is up to you how quickly your College Recruiting Website is up and ready to use. After we receive your payment and completed Athlete Information Worksheet (which we email to you to fill out) we start to build your College Recruiting Website. Next, we schedule a meeting to teach you how to use, edit and manage your College Recruiting Website and we develop your personal recruiting plan. When these steps are completed your College Recruiting Website is ready!

We can make this process happen within two days of receiving your payment and Athlete Information Worksheet.

Q13) What happens to my College Recruiting Website when I graduate?

After you graduate High School you have a few options for your College Recruiting Website.

Options:

1. Let your domain name and College Recruiting Website expire.

2. We can convert your College Recruiting Website to a website your family, friends and fans can follow to keep up with your college career.

3. We can hold your domain name for the time you are in college. Then in your last year of college we can build you a Career Website. You will have a formal website to promote yourself to future employers by using the knowledge you learned from your College Recruiting Website like how to network and promote yourself.

4. If you choose option 2 when you graduate from college we can convert it to a Career Website like in option 3.

5. If you turn pro after college and you have not let your domain name and College Recruiting Website expire by either choosing option 2 or 3 then we can build you a website your family, friends and fans can follow to keep up with your pro career. We highly recommend if you go pro you have a website. We can work with you to teach you how to create high volumes of traffic through your website increasing your potential sponsorship opportunities.

If you currently have a College Recruiting Website we will evaluate your options with you on what you should do with your College Recruiting Website after you graduate high school.

If you are interested in more details about the above options please contact Jared Montz at 985-237-0763 or Jared@CollegeRecruitingWebsite.com and he will go over the pricing and benefits information for each option.

Q14) When is the best time to set up a College Recruiting Website?

In the opinion of CollegeRecruitingWebsite.com, the best time to build your College Recruiting Website is during your freshman, sophomore or junior year of high school. The earlier in high school the better. Many of the top colleges in your sport fill their recruiting classes one to two years ahead of your graduation year. Recruiting doesn’t start your senior year; it starts as soon as you enter high school.

The earlier you have a College Recruiting Website and a personal recruiting plan the higher your chances are of being recruited. You need to show coaches your talent and your interest in their program. Don’t wait around for a coach to find you, you need to find them.

It’s your website, it’s your future.
